Karen Ann Tenhet

December 18, 1961 ~ March 28, 2025
Born in:
Turlare, California
Resided in:
Dawson Springs, Kentucky
On Friday March 28th, at approximately 8:30a.m, Karen Ann Tenhet left our world, and gained her wings, no longer in pain, and believed to be enjoying time lost with our loved ones who have passed prior. Karen was first and foremost a mother, a daughter, a sister, a niece, and a friend. Family was everything to Karen. The one thing she felt would bring the family together the most is food. She enjoyed cooking, which was evident in the mass amounts of cookbooks she carried everywhere with her. Karen loved traveling, art, and just being around those she loved.
We can only hope that Karen is now enjoying being pain free and living her best self-surrounded by all that she loves. She left behind a wonderful, and rather large family. Sadly, we won’t be naming all of the family, as there are so many, however we know she loved each and every one of you.
She is survived by her mother, Vera Lenora Sanders; her children, Sherise L. Mitchell (Eric Mitchell); Kahleenah T. Traylor (Dan Traylor); Athony B. Williams and Saundra D. Foreman (Justin Foreman); grandchildren, James, Josh, Sean, and Aaron Mitchell; Austin, Lane, and Skyler Traylor; Kayden, Zaide, Amara, and Brooklyn Williams; McKenzie, Madison, Maycee, Elora, and Raven Foreman; 5 great grandchildren, siblings, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who remain behind.
There will not be a memorial service here, however Karen’s final request was for her children to all come together, to the one beach she would spend time with all 4 of her children together. As her children are spread across the US, she wanted all of them together, to take pictures and for what she hoped that all her grandchildren could finally meet each other at the same time for once. Karen’s children are currently trying to make plans to make this happen and will notify the family once things are set in place.
Instead of flowers or gifts, Karen would much prefer for people to donate to charities, one of which would be for organ donors as she herself was a recipient of a heart herself. She would prefer for people to help others, to support local youth, and if able, to open your hearts and homes to children who don’t know true family. Karen’s children appreciate every one of you. They want you all to honor Karen by helping someone or making this world a better place.
